It’s important for every business to appear professional. So while sending emails directly from your Gmail account is a great way to communicate for a smaller business, at some point you’re going to want to send from your very own domain. Verifying your Domain allows you to do just that with Recess, and send from your own domain, instead of our domain (Though, we still think our domain name is super cool).

Step 1: Click the Avatar Icon in the top right of the screen.


Step 2: Select Account & Billing.

Step 3: Select the Sending Domains Tab.

Step 4: Add the Domain from which your emails will be sent. It's usually in the format of mail.example.com.

Step 5: Click ADD.

Step 6: Under “Verify Using TXT” Copy the Hostname and Value into a document, and keep handy.

Step 7: Go to the DNS settings of your DNS Provider, and paste these items into the corresponding text fields in your TXT Records.

Step 8: Under “Verify CNAME” Copy the Hostname and Value into a document, and keep handy.


Step 9: Go to the DNS settings of your DNS Provider, and paste these items into the corresponding text fields in your CNAME.

NOTE: It may take up to 48 Hours for verification to process with your DNS. When it's complete it will look like this:


And that's it! Your Domain is now verified.
